Along my travels of Sooke Hills Park, I came across a massive Douglas Fur Tree beside a river that flows into Humpback roads old reservoir. It has been added to my fine art collection.

Hand Mountain

Lost Photograph from a past Tofino Trip, of an interesting mountain formation, it resembled a hand reaching out from the mountain, In my mind it meant much more then a simple hand, it seemed as if it was a carbon footprint of man, a marking if you will of our destruction to this earth.

Here is an image of old lightening struck tree on the verge of falling

The small creek feeds thousands of massive redwoods.

An old growth Redwood Cedar growing near a small creek flowing into an abandon water resivor, had been cut down because of sheer size and potentially topple over onto a logging road.

Metchosin is the quiet farm land community on the west coast of Vancouver IsLand, filled with beautiful landscapes and wildlife. Here is some imagery of Matheson Lake, Bob mountain, Wittys lagoon and the Galloping Goose trail, which at one time was home to a railway, but in mid twentieth century was converted into a trail.

Here is an image from a recent trip into the Sooke hills regional park land. A came across a section of old growth furs and redwoods, toppled over in a domino orientation, there must have been 25-50 old growths fallen over each other in this particular area.

I have recently updated my wildlife and aspects of nature galleries with two new images from the past couple weeks with my new dslr. I also have some up and coming fall shots from a couple rolls of 35mm film, they should be scanned and posted soon.

New Dslr and Salmon run update

Within a week I will be up and running with a new Dslr camera again, a new Nikon d300 for a decent discontinued price of 1499.99. I was considering the New Nikon d300s with the high res video function, in my mind the extra 600dollars does not make the video function very cost effective.

New update soon on the Salmon run 2009, keep updated on my blog, for my photographs on the way, and some of the bigger game animals in my wildlife gallery.

Working update

I will be out of a a Dslr for a couple weeks more, my Fuji s5pro was looked at Fujifilm home base, and they had said it would coast 1700$ to fix the body. Which by the way I thought was slightly weird because its only worth 750$ new. So for the time being I will be shooting my 35mm slide, and I should have a new Nikon d300 in a couple weeks. Also on a good note I will be in the winter issue of Westshore chamber of commerce mag, along with another in the very near future.

Also the season is near and the Salmon are swimming up to the fresh water waiting to spawn. In my mind for a wildlife photographer like myself this is the peak time of year for wildlife photographing, so for all you wildlife photographers out there don't waist a moment, and build your archives for the new year. My digital camera is out of order

Recently I went on a trip to Port Renfrew, shoot at Botanical Beach. In the process of shooting Botanicals beautiful landscape, I got caught in a bad swell, and of course the twenty foot plus rouge wave won. I tried to get out of the splash zone as fast as possible, but my camera smashed on the sharp rock of the Westcoast Marine trail. The mirror had shifted from the fall and a few pieces of the Body where broken, but not to worry the sensor was fine. This leaves me with no working digital, but why not shoot 35mm. I have shot film longer then digital, and this gets me thinking why do we as professional photographers even need lcd screens to check exposure and sharpness. It's almost as if professional photographers these days are taking the easy way out. So I have decided in the mean time to test myself, and shoot wildlife with a 35mm camera again with my ever growing knowledge of nature photography.

I have decided to lengthen my Osprey collection of photographs in the very near future.Be sure to check my out my site and blog soon for updates. Here is one of my best osprey images.

Port Renfrew Trip

I went to Port Renfrew last weekend for a camping trip and to shoot some fine art / stock, so shot down at Botanical Beach and in the process I got caught in a rouge wave, and my camera got a little damaged. Fortunately enough my camera's sensor or anything electrical was not damaged.
